Difference between allergy, sensitivity and intolerance.
What is the difference between allergy and sensitivity and intolerance? There is much confusion about these terms, and the subject is confusing enough without it. The "right" direction of each of these terms is as follows:
• Allergy: This term is used by medical allergists describe the body's reactions that involve the entire immune system, particularly IgE (immunoglobulin type E) reaction.
• Sensitivity: This term is used by environmental ecologists, scientists, medical and many allergists to describe the body's reaction somewhat different (mostly white blood cells of shares), which often do not involve IgE and other parts of the immune system. (IgG reactions are often used.)
• Intolerance: This term refers to food intolerance, which is characterized by a missing enzyme that is needed to digest a particular food. examples currents include the enzyme lactase, "which is needed to digest dairy products, and the enzyme needed to digest beans. Both cause intestinal problems, mainly gas from the fermentation of food instead of digestion. Intolerance is not a true problem of allergens, we'll stop at the definition here.
The first two – allergies and sensitivity – are very similar in their effects. Or both can cause almost any symptom known to man. A partial list of symptoms of allergic sensitivity is as follows:
• Head: Headaches, neck pain, fullness, pressure or tightness in the head, vertigo, imbalance, vertigo, prohibition. nose, sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, swollen eyes, tearing, itching, blurred vision, too mucosal training ring, bursting or fullness in the ears, fluid in the middle ear, otitis, hearing loss, sore throat, hoarse and low, gagging, itching in the roof of the mouth, difficulty swallowing, ulcers, excessive thirst, frequent yawning, sinusitis, increased sensitivity to light and sound.
• Chest: coughing, wheezing, reduced air flow, tight congested feeling in the chest, shortness of breath, chest pain, rapid pulse, palpitations, heart irregularities, sudden changes in blood pressure.
• Stomach: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, bloating after meals, belching, passing gas, feeling of fullness in the stomach long after the finishing a meal, abdominal pain or cramps.
• Skin: hives, rash, eczema, itching, sweating, hot heat, cold, cold or hot flushes.
• General discomfort, clumsiness, excessive drowsiness or sleepiness soon after eating, muscle pain, cramps, spasms, weakness, spasms, tremors or twitching, joint pain, heat, or redness, backache, neuralgia, swelling hands or feet, urinary frequency or urgency, vaginal itching, excessive hunger or binge eating.
• Mental: schizophrenia, depression, hyperactivity (ADHD), emotional instability or hypersensitivity, insomnia, chronic fatigue, crisis tears, stuttering, excessive daydreaming, anxiety, panic attacks, withdrawn, apathetic, seizures, aggressive behavior, anger, irritability, silly, tense, agitated, excited, agitated behavior problems in children, difficulty concentrating, loss of memory, misunderstanding, confusion, impaired attention, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behavior, feelings of unreality, disorientation, false beliefs or delusions, hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, wanting to hurt yourself.
Note that all the problems above the brain can be caused by an allergy or sensitivity. It is a very important point in understanding the solutions to problems brain. In fact, since the subconscious controls the physical body (including the immune system) of the above "symptoms" could be regarded as the brain controls. This leads to possible treatments using the unconscious. This explains the success of the auditory Bate training system and EEG biofeedback (AKA neurofeedback) and hypnosis. All are methods that were used for training brain.
Many of the confusion comes from medical allergists are not updated on the methods of susceptibility testing. Many are still using obsolete the scratch test. Others use the latest RAST (Radio-AllogoSorbent Test). Although the test will sometimes show zero intolerance Food allergies and food direct, it is often confusing for these professionals. The IgE RAST tests only, and most food / hypersensitivity chemicals do not appear for this test at all.
It is generally considered by "experts" in the allergy scratch test is only 75% accurate, the RAST test is about 85% accurate allergy and 20% accurate on the sensitivities, and other sensitivity tests are about 80% accurate. Both false positives and false negatives are visible on all tests.
There is another very important difference between allergy and sensitivity. A food or chemical sensitivity literally "die" and cause no symptoms longer if the food or chemical refrained from for a period of 3-6 months, and only eaten once a week or from there. Allergies do not die down, but they are generally a problem to life for the patient.
For example, I am sensitive to both soybean and peanuts, and allergic to ragweed. Soy caused pain in my left arm as epicondylitis, bursitis, and neuralgia. Peanuts cause rheumatoid arthritis in my hands. Ragweed causes rhinitis (hay fever). Living in Florida, I'm not bothered by ragweed as I was in New Jersey as a boy. Of course, if the pollen ragweed is high, I can sneeze a few times, but no real problem. I can generally ignore it.
Peanuts and soybeans are different, both as cause real pain. I must be careful to eat all the foods that contain either. As long as I am that care, I'm free these two "symptoms". I can even eat a peanut butter sandwich once a week without a problem. But if I had to eat two of these few days my hands would be sore and tight. Before I found the problem, my hands were really paralyzed, and my wife and I have been around the Sailing in the Caribbean at the time in a sailboat that handles the necessary cables, etc.
There are many tests used by allergists and various orthomolecular and environmentalists of the environment. These are:
• RAST – as explained above – is now MD Allergist used by the most progressive. But because it does not show well the sensitivities, many allergists simply ignore them.
• Scratch – It is also used by many allergists, but is considered obsolete by most scientific observers. It shows a certain sensitivity, but is difficult to interpret.
• EFA – The test of the end point of titration is perhaps the most accurate of all tests, and it shows both the allergy and sensitivity. It does not distinguish between them, and it has the advantage not only of the test method the most accurate, but it also creates the "good" dose for "corrective strokes," as it tests.
• Cytotoxic Test – This is a test for food and chemical sensitivities, and it also shows the food / chemical allergies, but not as clearly and as the test of EFA, it does not distinguish between them. It is now considered as somewhat outdated and replaced by the test ALCAT below. I use in my practice, however, with good results.
• ALCAT – This test is an advance on the above test cytotoxic, and it uses a similar method for the observation of white blood cells, but it is much improved with a better accuracy. IgG – There are facilities that test for IgG in much the same way as the RAST test for IgE does. This system is supposed to find food chemical sensitivity /. Personally, I do not know enough about this technique to have an opinion on this.
• Caveman Diet Pulse & Testing – This has a huge advantage over all the above. IT'S FREE! Download this info to:

While working in a lab top allergy in the early '80s, I invented the first law of allergy and sensitivity: "There is no law." I later amended to include that "Only a few guidelines. Sometime Later, I invented another "law" of the allergy / sensitivity: "Anything can cause anything!
Various techniques Cure allergy
First, and most difficult to know exactly what is causing each symptom. Use all or part of allergy testing methods described above, or in my book The Health Revolution shareware. In the supplementary section of my book, there are several very questionnaires allergy Useful (developed by Dr. Marshall Mandell), and several lists of common foods which are often allergenic.
On the pages of resources, there are sources For more information, including cross-reactivity, food and families. This "discovery" is the most difficult because it involves a large number of police work, keeping a food diary and environment, and self-test.
Ok, now that you've noticed that you are allergic (or sensitive), what are your options for getting rid of the symptoms produced whatever their cause? In fact, there are several options, even if some may or may not work for you as an individual. My first rule of allergy (and sensitivity) is:
THERE No rules. There are guidelines, but remember that anything "can make something happen.
Here are some options to really get rid symptoms of allergy / sensitivity:
1. Avoiding food / environment / chemicals that cause symptoms.
2. Subliminal Training
3. Shots from the EFA (End point titration).
4. sublingual dosage from the EFA.
5. Chiropractic (including NAET).
6. Acupuncture.
7. plans traditional allergist MD
8. Homeopathy.
Avoidance is OK when you are dealing with specific food allergies / Sensitivity such as shellfish or peanuts, but very difficult if the foods are common, such as wheat or corn, or is allergic to the environment.
For the problems of brain in particular, I recommend Subliminal Training. I proved that to change somewhat the brain's response to certain allergens. This theory of mine was proven correct during testing in 2004. Since it is the cheapest of all clinical solutions, it should be considered first. If it works, you saved a lot of money.
Derivatives EFA plans are much more accurate, but they may change over time among individuals, if a new test is necessary, and it can become very expensive. If money is no object, it is the best at today, in my opinion. Some people are "cured" completely with them – others may have to be on shots for many years or even forever, in some cases.
Similarly for sublingual doses. The only difference is that the plans are necessary. Dr. Doris Rapp obtained excellent results for many years in the treatment of ADD, and even children with autism in this way. (Check for his books in your library reference section).
traditional allergy injections cons are very imprecise, ranging from about 50% less effective. They work best, make money from the pockets of allergists in general.
Chiropractors have claimed for years that allergies can be cured by spinal manipulation, and certainly they have many case histories to prove this assertion. The technique seems NAET last have some good success rate even though I have no personal knowledge of it.
My problem with chiropractors (and psychologists / psychiatrists) is that they are trained to keep customers coming back and back even when it is no longer necessary (except on doctor's bank account). There are good and bad in every profession.
Acupuncture works, at least for food sensitivities, as I can personally testify, but (why is it always a but?) if you continue eating the same foods too often, the symptoms reappear. This happened to me. Acupuncture has worked for six years for soybeans, but returned recently (in the other arm – is it not curious?).
Subliminal and Hypnosis training can seem far enough But actually both work quite well at least for some, if not most, people. Again, the results are different. In my practice, I had great success in the treatment of asthmatic children with Ma relaxation technique. I do not think that allergy "trigger" has been "cured" but the symptom of asthma was "disconnected" from this success. In recent experiments with dozens of volunteers Many suffering from allergies and many different problems of brain, more than 75% said the dramatic reduction of symptoms of ADD depression, and almost 100% "cure" of insomnia and other sleep problems of all kinds. If we recall that allergies / sensitivities are products of our immune system, and that the system is controlled by our unconscious, why not even subliminal Training Hypnosis is very effective? It is certainly a conduit to that kind of unconscious, and can be effective.
Homeopathy can also be effective. I saw a lot of allergy / sensitivity "Remedies" is by Dr. Fred Yost Stuart Florida a few years ago. Problem is that it was one of the best, and there is little in this country that get their action from Germany as he did, so I can not comment their effectiveness in the work of allergy.
These are some of the current options. There are always snake oil and other similar medicines using the placebo effect as well, and perhaps is why most of the above work so well when they do. Who will be most effective for you depends individually on your particular case, where you live, what you eat, what you do for a living, how much money you have, and many many more variables.
To really well again, you'll have to work hard and do research on your own. No doctor knows your body as you do (Or at least). In long-term health is really your best you.
Cookies difficult, but that's how. I hope this helps you to do.
Good luck
Phil Bate PhD.
