Common affliction affecting millions of Americans over age 55

The name "neuropathy" refers to conditions that result when the peripheral nerves, the nerves that connect the brain and spinal cord are damaged or diseased. The severity can range from mild to severe. In some cases the pain is debilitating and loss of balance can occur which can result in a fall. Falling is a major cause of death in people over 75.

Dr. Peter J. Szakacs, Quantum Vitality Centres in Wesley Chapel, is a local chiropractor who knows firsthand what this affliction is capable of. Later in his career, was diagnosed with peripheral neurology the result of a previous injury triggered by a car accident and was determined to find a treatment that allowed to live a normal life. "Dr. Pete", as his friends and patients call him, began his practice in 1979 and has been in the area since 2006. "I was in a permanent disability, "she recalls. For two years I could not work and committed to finding a successful treatment protocol.

"Fortunately I had my share technology," said Dr. Pete. "I recovered well enough to return to practice doing what I love doing – helping to others. "Based on the findings of another chiropractor – a neurologist, Dr. Pete developed a unique combination of vibration therapy Length, exercise, multiple impulse therapy in the joints, and electrical stimulation to the main nerve centers including the dorsal horn. A regime Nutritional supplementation is also used.

Nerve damage can occur as a result of various causes. Physical damage, as in the case of Dr. Pete, is nothing more than a cause. Carpal tunnel syndrome, caused by the strain and overuse by repetitive use of hands and wrists that results in damage nerve, is actually a type of peripheral neuropathy. In elderly patients, diabetes is often the main cause of pain and loss of motor function. Although the direct form in which this occurs is not known, it is believed that damage to blood vessels that supply nutrients and oxygen to the nerves caused by diabetes is an important factor.

The disease results from degeneration of the sheath that surrounds nerves decreasing its ability to carry electrical impulses necessary to trigger muscle response. Dr. Pete has found that electrical stimulation of the nerves and improve balance and posture he has been able to stabilize the patient and almost always improve the function of increasing mobility and reduce the possibility of a debilitating fall.

"The good news is that Most patients show improvement in the first weeks of starting therapy, "said Dr. Pete. He warns that this is not always the case." If a patient shows no improvement after a period of time we evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and remain in charge of a treatment that is not working, "he said. Dr. Pete believes that patients need only treatment is working.

When deciding on a provider's experience and location are considerations paramount. Dr. Pete believes that many of his patients residing within a radius of 10 miles of your office, located just off State Highway 56 behind Sam's Club.
